Why this work is personal
Six children. Every season of parenthood. No illusions.
I am a mother of six, with children ranging from early childhood to young adulthood.
I know the sleepless years, the noisy years, the teenage years, the letting-go years, and the strange moments where you realise you have somehow misplaced yourself between school emails, socks, meals, emotions and everyone else’s needs.
My work is not built on a theory of family life from the outside.
It is shaped by having lived inside it.
What changed
Modern parenting asks too much of parents, and too little of children.
Modern parenting teaches parents that good parenting means being endlessly available, endlessly patient, endlessly responsive and endlessly careful.
Every feeling is urgent. Every boundary needs an explanation.
Every ordinary decision became something to negotiate. The intention was love.
But the result, for many families, is exhaustion.
Parents lose their footing. Children lose the feeling of being led. And family life starts to revolve around the child in a way that is neither sustainable nor particularly helpful for the child.
The child does not need to be the center of adult life to feel deeply loved.
How did you get here?
Modern parenting made the
child the centre.
Many intelligent, loving parents have been taught to treat every feeling as urgent, every preference as meaningful, every resistance as something to understand, and every boundary as something to justify.
The intention is loving, but the result is exhausting.
The adult life pauses. The child becomes the centre. The parent becomes careful, watchful and endlessly available.
A family rhythm that does not collapse around every mood or refusal.
Direction
Parents who know what they are deciding, instead of outsourcing confidence to the latest parenting trend.
Backbone
Boundaries held with warmth, without speeches, guilt or apology.
Professional grounding
Academic thinking, applied to real family life.
Alongside my lived experience as a mother, I have pursued academic studies in psychology, with a focus on health psychology.
I hold the Associate Certified Coach credential through the International Coaching Federation, and completed executive education in Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching at Harvard Medical School.
The coaching remains practical, personal and grounded in the reality of the family I work with.

How I work
I have lived it. I won't let you stay stuck.
I help parents look clearly at what is happening, understand where they lost their footing, and find a steadier way to lead.
The work is individual, thoughtful and practical.
You bring the moment that keeps repeating. I help you see the pattern not just the problem.
I listen for what's underneath
To find the pattern not just the problem.
I'm direct
Because parents do not need more fog.
I keep the adult role central
Because children feel safer when adults know where they stand.
I work with your family
Not a theoretical child, not a perfect method, and not an imaginary home.
And just as importantly
I don't coach toward perfect parenting.
I coach toward parents who can breathe again.
Parents who can say no without a dissertation.
Parents who can love their children deeply without handing them the steering wheel.
Parents who can have an adult life, a marriage, a thought, a cup of coffee, a moment of silence, without treating this as a failure of devotion.
That is the work.
Not perfection.
A steadier family.
“Katrin’s background and her enormous experience, combined with her common sense approach, helped us get a grip on our new big family and make everyone feel like they have their place.”

Who this is for
For parents who are capable, loving and tired of circling the child.
I work with parents who are not looking for another ten-step framework.
They want their home to feel calmer.
They want their children to grow into capable adults.
And they want to stop feeling as if good parenting meant giving up their own adult life.
“Katrin is the experienced, calm, steady ‘sage’ in my corner.”

Answer three short questions.
These questions help me understand your situation before a first conversation.
They are intentionally simple. The point is not to impress. The point is to begin clearly.
